St Mary’s – Quinquennial Conservation Works
Set high above the village, St Mary’s is an 11th-century downland church and one of the area’s most significant medieval landmarks.
Our work here formed part of the quinquennial repairs, focusing on strengthening and safeguarding the Grade I-listed fabric. This included specialist masonry repairs to the belfry louvres, improvements to rainwater management, and conservation of vulnerable historic stonework.
Each intervention was carried out with care and restraint, ensuring the church’s centuries-old character was protected while addressing essential long-term needs. A calm, steady project – and a privilege to contribute to the continuing life of such an important building.
