Victorian Vicarage – Arundel
This Victorian vicarage required a full and sensitive refurbishment – a project focused on restoring its original character while reshaping the home for modern living.
AIM became involved even before the property was purchased, carrying out condition assessments and early budgeting to help the clients make informed decisions from the outset.
Working closely with the architect, structural engineer, PQS, interior designer and landscape designer, the scheme evolved through a detailed and collaborative process. More than 400 plan revisions and over 70 architectural sketches were reviewed during the 12-month programme, each decision balancing heritage, practicality and the way the clients wanted to use the home.
The refurbishment brought the vicarage back to life: original features restored with care, new interventions made with restraint, and the internal layout reconfigured to create calm, generous spaces suited to contemporary living.
The completed home feels both renewed and familiar – a thoughtful restoration that respects the building’s Victorian character while quietly improving comfort, flow and long-term performance.
